Celebrating 10 years of art making.

Celebrating 10 years of art making.

This year marks 10 years of making art, and it’s already shaping up to be a milestone year. I’ve had:

  •  two pieces in a local gallery showcase
  • tested a new vendor setup at a pop-up market
  • and celebrated my biggest online print sale yet.

But none of these wins happened overnight. A decade of creating has been filled with trial and error, trusting my gut, and following my passion. Every lesson, setback, and risk taken has shaped my journey—and the success that comes from that is well-earned. Whether you’re an artist, small business owner, or creative entrepreneur building something of your own, I want to share what a decade in art has taught me.

The Struggles No One Sees

When I first started selling my art, I had visions of packed galleries and sales. The reality? There were times when I'd show up to art shows with no sales. I would pack up my table at the end of the night, wondering if I had made the right choice in pursuing this dream.

I had all of the things. Branding, social media accounts promoting my work, and art prints and I even invested in a website every month. But running a business solo means wearing many hats, and even with my background in digital marketing and social media management, consistency early on was a bit of a challenge to balance.

The Reality of Growth & Adaptation

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency doesn’t mean doing the same thing every day. Life ebbs and flows. Some days are high-energy, and filled with creative breakthroughs. Other days require rest, reflection, or handling personal priorities.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve switched jobs, traveled, had a child, and navigated different life seasons—but art has always been here for me. It’s something I return to when I’m ready to pour into it, and it continues to evolve as I do.

The Joy of Art & Community

What keeps me going is the realization that art is more than just what I create—it’s how I connect with others. Whether it’s through online sales, pop-up markets, or collaborations, art has allowed me to build a community.

It has allowed me to support my life financially while having the creative freedom to express myself. It has given me a platform to inspire others—whether it’s someone buying their first art print or a fellow artist looking for reassurance that their dreams are worth pursuing.

Thank You for Being Part of This Journey

As I reflect on this journey, I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported my art—whether by purchasing a print, sharing my work, or simply following along. If you’d like to celebrate this milestone with me, I’m currently offering a special Buy 3 Prints, Get 1 Free sale through the end of the month.

Here’s to another decade of creativity, growth, and connection. 🥂
